About Me

Justin Buss is a cinematographer based in Boise, Idaho with a focus on narrative storytelling and visually driven work. His interest in image-making started early, experimenting with whatever tools he could find, from tape recorders to webcams and handycams. That curiosity eventually led him to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Television from Boise State University.

After graduating, Justin worked with Wide Eye Productions, contributing to a range of commercial and documentary projects. His experience includes narrative short films, a feature film, commercials, public service announcements, and live events.

His work has screened across the Northwest as well as at national and international festivals. He has received recognition from the Sun Valley Film Festival, the Northwest Regional Emmy Awards, and other regional showcases.

Justin is especially drawn to character-driven stories and continues to pursue work as a director of photography on narrative features, with an interest in thoughtful and visually engaging filmmaking.

Outside of film, he enjoys playing pickleball and snowboarding.
